Orthopedics and Traumatology
In Turkey, the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology provides medical services for all aspects of modern orthopedic science. The hand surgery section was established as a branch of the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology in 2011. Specialized physicians in their respective fields not only provide medical treatment to patients but also offer education to new medical professionals.
Turkish hospitals offer treatment services for all types of musculoskeletal diseases and injuries. Treatments are available for hip, knee, ankle, and foot joint replacements (prosthetics), as well as successful partial knee replacements (uni-condyles). Various spinal surgeries (fractures, scoliosis, narrow spinal canal, and vertebroplasty-kyphoplasty) can also be performed.
International standard services are provided in sports surgery, including arthroscopic surgeries for the knee, shoulder, hip, and ankle. All orthopedic problems, congenital deformities, pediatric orthopedic issues, nonunion fractures, limb lengthening treatments, correction of arm and leg deformities, bone tumors, joint movement restrictions, and joint structural disorders can be treated with Ilizarov and modern fixation methods.
Additionally, revision surgeries to address complications following prosthetic and fracture treatments can also be performed in clinics. The areas covered by the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology include:
Traumatology
Spinal Surgery
Arthroplasty and Expert Reconstruction
Arthroscopic Surgery
Pediatric Orthopedics
Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery
Oncology Orthopedics
Sports Injury Orthopedics.
